Srinagar: During the IPL season, the state police has chalked out cricketing as a new method to befriend the youth, who were frequently clashing with security persons on various counts.The state police would organise 20-20 matches for the local youth and the event is likely to be a month-long affair. The first match of the championship was organised in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir on Monday which attracted as many as 48 teams from different parts of the Ganderbal, 30 kms from here. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, H K Lohia, said the event was organised to start a youth-police interaction to build an environment of understanding and cohesion.
