Srinagar, July 05(KMW): Four Army man were killed and eleven others, including three Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO’s) injured in a road accident in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district, officials told Press Bureau of India Monday. They said a team of Army’s 267 Engineering Regiment was surveying Lashwan Post area of Nowgam sector in the frontier district last evening when their vehicle skidded off the road near Qazinag Baba and fell into a deep gorge. Four Army men were killed on the spot while eleven others including three JCO’s suffered serious injuries. All the injured were rushed to hospital for treatment. The condition of three of the Army men was stated to be critical the slain Army men have been identified as Havaldar Jagdish Singh, Naik Avtar Singh, Sepoy Ratanjeet Singh and Sepoy S S Rathore. “The Army team was surveying the area for the construction of a bridge when the accident took place. The vehicle was completely damaged in the accident,” officials added. Srinagar based, Army spokesman, J S Brar confirmed the death of four Army men and injuries to eleven others in the road accident.“Four of our men were killed and eleven others injured in a road accident in Nowgam sector,” he said. Meanwhile, police has registered a case Fir No 119/2010 under section 279, 304 A in this regard.
