Srinagar, April 10: The Hurriyat (G) Saturday called for complete strike on April 13 against the conviction of six Kashmiris by a Delhi court, including Hurriyat leader Farida Behanji.
In a statement issued here, Hurriyat (G) spokesperson said the executive meeting was held here, in which representatives of the constituents of the conglomerate participated.
The meeting, chaired by acting general secretary Feroz Ahmed Khan, was also addressed by Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani over phone from New Delhi.
"Complete strike will be observed on April 13 against the conviction of five Kashmiris in Delhi, including Farida Behanji," the members resolved.
Others convicted are Farooq Ahmed Khan, Mirza Nisar Hussain, Javed Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ali and Noushad Ahmed.
"Indian judiciary is playing partisan and biased role. The Kashmiri people are beung targetted here while those accused of Gujarat riots are roaming free," Geelani said.
The Hurriyat (G) has appealed traders and transporters to make the call a success. (KMW)
