Kashmir Police thwart attempt to hold separatist seminar in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 21(KMW): The Jammu and Kashmir police foiled an attempt to hold a seminar by Human Rights activist here on Wednesday. The seminar was supposed to be telephonically  addressed  by some of the most wanted militant leaders included , Syed Salluhu-Din, Hafiz Sayed and Azhar Masood  from Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The trio are wanted by the Government of India in many cases like 26/11 and Parliament Attack etc.
The seminar  was organized by a former militant turned Human Rights Activist under the banner of lesser known International Forum for Justice , was reportedly to be addressed by leaders of both factions of Hurriyat Conference including pressure groups like People’s Political Party (PPP) headed by Hilal Ahmad War and Dukhtaran-e-Milat headed by Asiya Andrabi.  
However,   when the seminar was about to start , the City Police Chief of  Jammu and Kashmir police, Mr. Javaid Riyaz Bedar entered the Conference Hall along with Station House Officer, Maisuma, Mr. Zahoor Khan entered the Conference Hall  in the Taj Hotel and sealed it ahead of the scheduled programme and  arrested the  organiser of the programme, Mr. Ahsan Untoo.
 “We had an idea that Salahuddin was to address the seminar. I don’t know exactly that whether Azharuddin (Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Masood Azhar) was to address or not,” said Zahid Ali, spokesperson of Jamaat-e-Islami.KMW
