Srinagar, May 1: Barring Natipora in the uptown, the life remained normal in the Kashmir valley after witnessing few incidents of stone pelting at different places yesterday.
People again took to streets at Natipora, protesting against the death of a local youth, an employee of State Board of School Education (SBSE) after he was hit by a stone during stone pelting incident at Batamaloo yesterday.
Shops and business establishments in the area remained closed and traffic on Natipora-Nowgam route was diverted to other roads.
A group of youths also indulged in stone pelting at main chowk in Natipora. However, they were later chased away by security force personnel deployed in the area.
Security forces yesterday burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse pro freedom supporter of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) when they tried to march towards the United Nations Military Observers (UNMO) office at Sonawar from Lal Chowk.
The chairman of the HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani has appealed to people to march to UNMO office against the alleged increase in the Human Rights violations in the state.
However, today it was normal everywhere with shops and business establishments open and traffic plying on routes normally.
Similar situation was also witnessed at Baramulla and Sopore where stone pelting incidents were reported yesterday. (UNI)
