India, Pakistan Foreign Mins to meet on July 15

New Delhi, May 11 (KMW): Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan will meet in Islamabad on July 15 to work out the methodology for carrying forward the stalled dialogue between the two countries.

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna will travel to Islamabad for discussions with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to ''discuss all issues'' and carry forward the dialogue between the two countries.

This was decided during the 30-minute telephonic conversation between the two foreign ministers today.

The External Affairs Minister, who called up his ''esteemed friend'' Mr. Qureshi, was invited by him to visit Islamabad. Mr. Krishna accepted the invitation and both will meet on July 15.

Home Minister P Chidambaram is also expected to meet Pakistan's Interior Minister Rahman Malik on June 26 during his visit to Pakistan to attend the SAARC Home Ministers' Conference.

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir are also expected to meet the same day to lay the groundwork for the meeting between the two Foreign Ministers, sources said.

Speaking to reporters after the telephonic conversation, Mr. Krishna said the talks between him and Mr. Qureshi would cover ''all outstanding issues.'' ''The Foreign Minister of Pakistan has invited me to Islamabad on July 15. So, I am planning to visit Islamabad for my talks with Foreign Minister Qureshi. I am looking forward to the talks,'' he said.(KMW)
