Srinagar, Aug 13 (KMW): In what can be termed as the bloodiest day in the history of Ramadan in Kashmir, several people were shot dead by security forces in the conflict ridden Kashmir.
The day began on a tragic note when a student of 10th class was shot dead.
According to different media reports and eyewitnesses, as people were coming out of a mosque after offering dawn prayers at Mirpora mohalla in Trehgam town, they were confronted by CRPF personnel on the grounds that undeclared curfew was in force in the area.
This led to an argument between the worshippers and CRPF, upon which the latter opened fire and killed a boy, identified as Mudasir Ahmed Zargar, S/O Gulam Hasan Zargar, a resident of Trehgam.
A 60-year-old woman, identified as Jana Begum W/O Muhammad Sidiq Malik was also injured in the incident.
If this was not enough.
The 65-year-old man, identified as Ali Muhammad Khanday, hailing from Pattan area of north Kashmir Varmul district succumbed to his injuries at SK Institute of Medical Sciences this afternoon.
Khanday was injured when paramilitary forces opened fire on him this morning at Pattan town, some 28 kms from here.
Adding salt to the wounds of kashmiris, another massacre took place in Sopore.
Two more youngsters were shot to death and several other were wounded in north Kashmir's Sopore town as paramilitary CRPF is said to have opened fire on a peaceful procession in the town this afternoon.
By evening reports were pouring in from Bandipora to Palhallan and mattan to Nowhatta of several critical injuries to protesters in alleged security forces firing.
Commenting on this gloomy scenario, senior pro-freedom leader Hilal Ahmad War, Chairman People’s Political Party (PPP) said, “The days are now numbered for the government of India its Occupational Forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
Worst form of atrocities and unprecedented human rights violations are committed by brute forces of India in Kashmir.
They have converted whole Kashmir into an active war-zone and a colossal cantonment. Killing of 4 innocent Kashmiris on the second auspicious day of holy month of Ramadan prove that Govt. of India has formulated a new genocide policy whereby fourth generation of Kashmir freedom Movement are made target by the occupational forces in order to deter them to take the responsibilities of the movement which India is scared of. If Govt.
India will follow the philosophy of live and let live it will surely concede the demand of the 14 million people of Jammu and Kashmir that they want to shape their political future according to their Will.

Babar Jan Qadri, A Peace Activist said, “The manner in which peaceful protests are scuttled in the disputed region of Kashmir, it will give rise to violent forms of rĂ©sistance, which would burn down the entire region in flames.

India needs to accept Kashmir as disputed region and solve this dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri masses”.
Ground realities suggest that the overall scenario related to human rights in the Valley of Kashmir is getting from bad to worse and reailties call upon the government of India to address Kashmir issue immediately.
